IconicWall doesn't require complex work in normal daily use. Like any system integrated into the space, however, it must be cleaned and used with care, respecting the finishes, accessories and installed configuration.
IconicWall is designed to transform the wall into an equippable, reconfigurable surface that lasts over time.
Preserving its aesthetics and functionality doesn't require complex work, just a few simple and consistent precautions: cleaning the surfaces correctly, using the accessories as intended, avoiding harsh products, and periodically checking that everything is stable and in order.
Routine maintenance
In everyday use, IconicWall requires simple routine maintenance.
It's recommended to remove dust and fingerprints with a soft cloth, dry or slightly dampened, avoiding aggressive rubbing.
For routine cleaning, it's best to use neutral, non-abrasive detergents, always in controlled amounts, without leaving liquid residue on the surfaces.
Cleaning frequency depends on the environment: a living room wall requires different care than a kitchen, a reception area, a hotel room, or a commercial space.
Surface cleaning
Decorative surfaces must be treated with care, especially with textured, metallic, matte, wood-effect finishes or other special claddings.
General guidance:
- use soft, clean cloths;
- avoid abrasive sponges;
- remove any stains as soon as possible;
- don't spray large amounts of product directly onto the wall;
- always dry any moisture residue;
- test new products on a low-visibility area before extended use.
The specific instructions for the installed finish always take precedence over these general guidelines.
What to avoid
To preserve IconicWall over time, it's important to avoid harsh detergents, unauthorized solvents, alcohol, acetone or strong degreasers, unless otherwise technically indicated.
It's also important to avoid abrasive sponges or steel wool, direct steam, water jets, strong impacts, dragging heavy objects across the surface, unplanned loads on accessories, and unauthorized modifications to the structure or fastenings.
Overly aggressive cleaning can damage the finish more than years of normal use.
Accessories and magnetic components
IconicWall accessories must be used according to the configuration specified in the project.
Before moving, removing or repositioning an accessory, check that the panel is clean, the accessory is undamaged, the resting point is correct, the applied weight is compatible with the accessory, and the piece is stable after positioning.
Don't overload shelves, containers, supports or magnetic components beyond their intended use.
For accessories intended to hold objects, weights or delicate items, always follow the instructions received during the design or handover phase.
Lighting, if present
If IconicWall integrates lighting, LED strips or electrical components, cleaning must be carried out with particular care.
Before intervening, avoid liquids near electrical components, don't pull on cables, profiles or power supplies, and don't disassemble lighting elements without technical instructions.
In case of malfunction, it's recommended to contact qualified personnel.
Any work on electrical parts must be carried out by competent personnel.
Kitchens and operational areas
When IconicWall is installed in a kitchen or operational area, maintenance must account for humidity, steam, food residue, grease and more frequent cleaning.
In these environments, it's advisable to clean surfaces more regularly, remove splashes or residue immediately, avoid moisture buildup, avoid using harsh products without prior testing, and pay attention to frequently handled accessories.
A wall used every day must be treated as an active part of the space, not just a decorative surface.
Periodic checks
It's recommended to periodically check the general condition of the system.
Check panel stability, correct accessory positioning, the presence of scratches, impacts or unusual marks, any detachment or deformation, lighting function if present, and the cleanliness of the most-used areas.
In commercial environments, hotels, reception areas or high-traffic spaces, checks should be more frequent.
Changes, replacements and reconfigurations
One of the advantages of IconicWall is the ability to update and reconfigure the wall over time.
Before replacing panels, modifying accessories, adding new elements or changing the composition, it's recommended to check technical compatibility with Iconic.
Not all changes are equivalent: weight, dimensions, position, intended use and type of finish can all affect how the system behaves.
When to contact Iconic
It's recommended to contact Iconic if you have doubts about cleaning a finish, accidental damage, unstable accessories, the need to replace a panel, a desire to reconfigure the wall, the addition of new accessories, problems with lighting or technical components, or uses different from those originally intended.
A preventive check avoids incorrect actions and helps keep the system consistent with the original design.
